Spread things out

Spread out good things over time. If you have 100 units of happiness for the year, it doesn’t make sense to use them all up in one day and be miserable the other 364. For example, two gifts of $40 make people happier than a single $80 gift. What can you spread out over the day that will help you feel satisfied at the end of the day? Maybe you can divide the time you spend on a crossword puzzle, for example. Do part in the morning, part after dinner, and the rest at bedtime. What are some other examples specific to your day-to-day?
