One of My Favorite Quotes

One of my all-time favorite quotes about commitment is attributed to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: “Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back… The moment one definitely commits oneself then Providence moves, too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”

Once you make your decision and know the reasons why you want to change, you find yourself endowed with a power that ignites the desire within you to reach your goals.

There is a big difference between daydreaming about something, deciding to do something, and having the conviction to actually do it. When you make the decision to change and you know your reasons, you will lasso the type of power that builds on the desire to make something happen.
